Police arrest father who allegedly locked son for 7 years in Kano

The Kano State Police Command on Thursday arrested one Aminu Farawa for allegedly locking up his biological son, Ahmed Aminu, for 7 years.

The state police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abdullahi Haruna, in a statement, explained that the boy, 30, was locked up in the father’s garage without proper feeding and health care. According to Mr Haruna, a Team of Operation Puff-Adder, which rescued the victim rushed him to Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital, in the state.

The police said that a preliminary investigations revealed that the father confessed to have locked-up the victim, however, insisting that it was for three years. According to the father, the punishment was out of suspicion for Drug-Abuse by the boy.

Meanwhile, the state’s Commissioner of Police, CP Habu Sani, said the case had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigations Department, SCID, for discreet investigations, as reported by News Digest.
