Court sacks Sheriff Ahlan-led Kano FA exco, freezes association’s bank accounts

A Kano state High Court on Wednesday granted interlocutory injunction, restraining the Rabiu Sheriff Ahlan-led exco of the Kano Football Association from parading itself as officials of the football body.

The order was granted by Justice Umar Na’Abba, following a petition filed by Salisu Rabiu, a candidate in the FA election.

The court also ordered that the association’s bank account 0147055012, domiciled with FCMB, and another one 5852010828 with ECOBANK be frozen pending the final determination of the suit.

The respondents are Sharu Rabiu Ahlan, Ma’aruf Yakasai, Shehu Buhari, Kano FA, Kano Sport Commission, Aminu Muhammad Chana and Hassan Garo.

Others include, Idris Rilwanu Malikawa, the spokesman of Kano Pillars Football Club; Usman Mustapha, Ibrahim Isa Riruwai, Isa Uba Odiye and Halliru Alasan Sumaila, Daily Nigerian reports.

The court also barred the respondents, either by themselves or agents from parading themselves as the elected executives of Kano Football Association.

The court then adjourned the suit till January 7 for mentioning
