Ali Nuhu wins best director award

A popular Kannywood and Nollywood star Ali Nuhu has won the best director award at the Northern Trendz award night.

Dubbed as the King of Kannywood, Nuhu won the award with his movie “Mariya”.

Nuhu wrote on his verified Instagram handle @realalinuhu, “First award of the year, best director with the movie Mariya.”

Nuhu appreciated the organisers -Northern Trendz- of the award, while also thanking the cast and crew of the movie as reported by Daily Trust.

The movie, Mariya centered on the issue of girl-child marriage in Hausa land.

The cast included Maryam Yahaya who acted as Mariya, Umar M. Shareef who acted as Abdullahi who is the real lover of Mariya and Baba Karkuzu, the elderly man that Mariya was forced to marry against her dream of becoming a medical doctor.

Ali Nuhu is a film actor, producer and director.

He acts both in Kannywood and Nollywood movies.
