The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Zamfara State has rejected the Presidential and National Assembly elections results in the state over allegations of rigging and other electoral malpractices.
Speaking to newsmen in Gusau, the chairman of the party Alhaji Ibrahim Mallaha Gusau said result sheets were withheld and ballot papers destroyed in many polling stations across the state.
Alhaji Mallaha, who called for the removal of the Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state Dr Asmau Sani Maikudi and cancellation of the entire polls, said justice must prevailed.
“The elections were massively rigged in Mada, Kaura Namoda and Bakura local governments and so many other places in Gusau metropolis” Daily Trust reports
He said the party’s agents did not sign the result sheets where there was rigging, adding that it was the worst election so far in Zamfara State.
