The Kano state command, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC) has approved the deployment of 1200 operatives to maintain peace and order during the upcoming Christmas and New Year celebrations in the state.
The state commandant Abu Tambuwal stated this in a press release sent to KANO FOCUS by the command spokesperson Ibrahim Idris Abdullahi on Monday.
Mr Tambuwal said a special response squad including under cover personnel has been mobilized to worship and recreational centers to protect lives and properties, Kano Focus reports.
He therefore called on the public to report suspicious movements to security agents, as the corps is set to deal with troublemakers who may wish to disrupt public peace during the Yuletide.
