Yaki A Soyayya’ is a movie on drug abuse and domestic violence. The tragic and melodramatic movie features a number of Hausa film actors including Nafisa Abdullahi (who also produced it) Abdul M Shareef, Falalu Dorayi and Bilkisu Abdullahi.

From the trailer of the film, Nafisa fitted perfectly into her role and made it look as if the script was premeditated to match her acting personality. While an A-list director Dorayi, actor Abdul M. Shareef and the other cast members provided more twists and turns as the scenes of the films unfolded.

The storyline of ‘Yaki A Soyayya’ chronicles the life of a beautiful young lady who abuse drugs.

The film has a sub-plot of domestic violence and other social vices that need urgent attention from all and sundry.

‘Yaki A Soyayya’ for the past weeks has been the talk  of Hausa film viewers and the expectations from viewers.

While there are speculations about what the movie would be like, Abdullahi, in an interview with Daily Trust, said that ‘Yaki A Soyayya’ is beyond what people are expecting.

She said it is not only about love and romance; it has a very important message on some of the problems facing Nigeria. “This movie is one of my dreams. I wanted to make a film with messages on social vices so our youth can learn something important.”

“‘Yaki A Soyayya’ is beyond love. We have challenges in Nigeria apart from courtship. Drug abuse and domestic violence are the greatest problems facing us currently. So I decided to make a film on these menace,” she said as reported by Daily Trust.

On what motivated her to produce the film, she said, “I felt like doing something different, a movie that had never been done before. At this critical stage, it is imperative to make a movie that would send a message directly to people.

The director of the film, Alfazazee Muhammad, said the film targets youth involved in drug abuse, crimes and other social vices, and proffers solution on how these menace could be tackled.

‘Yaki A Soyayya’ is the second film to be released by Nafs Entertainment after the success of ‘Guguwar So’ and the Hausa film industry popularly known as Kannywood is curious to see what the film would have in store.

It will premiere on December 28.
