CRISTIANO RONALDO has been sacked by Manchester United after having his £500,000-a-week contract ripped up, The Sun reported.

The Portugal forward blasted the club in his explosive interview with Piers Morgan.

And now the Red Devils have decided to terminate his contract with immediate effect.

The news was announced at 5.30pm as United released a blunt statement for the club icon.

The club said: “Cristiano Ronaldo is to leave Manchester United by mutual agreement, with immediate effect.”

Reacting, CR7 says, “Following talks with Manchester United, we’ve mutually agreed to end our contract. I love Manchester United and I love the fans, that will never ever change. It feels like the right time to seek a new challenge. I wish Man Utd all the best”.
