We Are Working To Boost Cassava Production In Kano State – NCGA

The executive officers of the National Cassava Association of Nigeria (NCGA) Kano State chapter has disclosed that they are now making excellent efforts towards the restoration of cassava production across the state.

In an interview with New Nigerian, the leaders announced that they have commenced cassava  growers mobilisation in order to ensure that they multiply their cassava production annually especially at present when there is more product demand for industrial and domestic use in so many ways.

Alhaji Musa Sani, Kano NCGA chairman told our correspondent that cassava production is an occupation that is directly related to commercial activities because it has so many impacts on economic and industrial growth with optimum results.

He commended the Kano State Governor for facilitating agricultural production in the state as seen at present.

He added that” We would ensure that our farmers expand their cassava production annually in order to ensure that the economy is boosted through the sale of the products with optimum results.

He assured that in the near future, cassava production  in Kano State would become an occupation that would be adopted by many farmers.

In his remarks, the secretary of the association, Malam Salusu Umar Chiromawa disclosed that Kano State is blessed with good agricultural land that can be used in growing different types of crops.

He therefore, advised cassava farmers to expand their production in order to increase their economy through profitable agriculture.

He assured that NCGA would become an important channel to cassava grower’s.

Similarly, all the executive officers of the association expressed their readiness to meet cassava growers production target in Kano State for the development of the occupation.

They expressed hopes that the Kano State Government will encourage cassava growers in boosting their production for the betterment of their livelihood, self-reliance and providing employment opportunities.
