Ronaldo, a five-time Ballon d’Or winner, stated at the 2024 Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai that it was unfair for Vinicius to be denied the award, which was won by Manchester City midfielder Rodri.

Vinicius, who finished second in the Ballon d’Or voting, reacted to Ronaldo’s comments at the same awards ceremony, saying: “Cristiano Ronaldo’s words about the Ballon d’Or? If Cristiano said I’m the best, then I am!”

This lighthearted response suggests that Vinicius is humbled by Ronaldo’s endorsement and confident in his own abilities.

It’s worth noting that Vinicius did win the FIFA Best Player of the Year award, which is another prestigious individual honor in the football world.
