PDP calls for arrest of Ganduje’s aide for sharing fake results

The Special Adviser to Kano State governor on New Media, Uba Danzainab, has been caught posting fake results on social media, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, raised alarm on Saturday night.

DAILY NIGERIAN gathered that Mr Danzainab took to his Facebook page to share the results of the February 23 presidential election, which shows All Progressives Congress, APC, leading with wide margin.

But commenters quickly punctured the governor’s aide’s “results” by posting the presidential election result that tallies with the one he presents as the governorship election result.

Sanusi Dawakintofa, the spokesman for the PDP governorship candidate, Abba Yusuf, said the sharing of the fake results was aimed at creating confusing as exit polls show Mr Danzainab’s principal was losing.

He therefore drew the attention of Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and called on the the police to arrest the governor’s aide.

“The ruling APC is intimidated by PDP’s overwhelming victory across the 44 Local Government Areas of Kano State.

“We call on INEC and the Nigeria Police to as a matter of urgency arrest a media aide to Governor Ganduje, Uba Danzainab, for releasing a fake Governorship results this evening ahead of INEC.

“We learnt, the result shared from Kano Government house is meant to tamper with the outcome of elections conducted today which will later be released by INEC.

“Information available in our situation room indicates that PDP is winning with a wide margin in over 40 LGAs out of the 44 LGAs in the state,” he said.
