Northern Groups Back Kwankwaso Over Alleged Northern Marginalisation by Tinubu Government

Several prominent northern socio-political groups have rallied behind former Kano State Governor and NNPP national leader, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso over his recent claims that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is marginalising the North in both appointments and developmental projects.

The groups include the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG), Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF), League of Northern Democrats, and the Arewa Youth Consultative Council.

In separate statements, they voiced concern over what they describe as a growing pattern of exclusion and underrepresentation of the North in key national affairs.

Kwankwaso had recently accused the Tinubu government of deliberately sidelining the North, a sentiment now echoed by these influential northern bodies who say the region deserves equitable participation in governance.

The development adds to growing political tension as Nigeria approaches a critical pre-election period, with regional leaders increasingly asserting their influence on national discourse.
