The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on Tuesday fixed November 2 for the governorship elections in Kogi and Bayelsa states.
Festus Okoye, INEC’s commissioner in charge of information and voters education committee, announced this on Tuesday evening, saying the official notice for both elections would be issued on August 1.
He said primaries for nomination of candidates in the elections will hold between August 2 and August 29.
Mr Okoye added that public campaigns by political parties will commence on August 2 and end October 31.
“The parties sponsoring candidates are required to submit the list of their agents not later than 2nd October, 2019,” he said.
