A 27-year-old Kano State Road Traffic Agency, KAROTA personnel, Tijjani Adamu on Tuesday was killed by a motorist after allegedly beating traffic.

The incident occurred on Airport road when the motorist was arrested over traffic offence.

Confirming the incident to Solacebase, KAROTA Public Relations Officer, Nabulisi Abubakar Kofar- Naisa said the agency personnel after arresting the motorist was on his way to the headquarters when the driver of the car stopped and refused to move.

He explained that the act prompted the officer, Tijjani Adamu who alighted from the car and went to the front to remove the number plate of the vehicle, while doing that, the motorist was said to have crushed the young officer and took to his heel.

The agency Spokesman noted that the deceased has since been buried.

Kano Police Command Spokesman DSP Abdullahi Hauna Kiyawa said the incident happened around 11.30 am and they are in custody of the vehicle plate number which will facilitate the arrest of the motorist.
