Karaye Emirate Council has announced the dissolution of all traditional title holders with immediate effect, a statement from the Information Officer of the area, Haruna Gunduwawa has said.
The statement stated that Emir Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Abubakar II has approved the dissolution.
The dissolution was conveyed by the Magajin Gari of Karaye, Engr. Shehu Ahmad, who doubles as the Senior Councillor of the Emirate, shortly after a meeting with outgoing traditional title holders at the Emir’s palace recently.
Engr. Ahmad said the dissolution did not affect the titles of eight district heads of the Emirate, the Triumph reports.
He restated the Emir’s readiness to expand title confirmation in accordance with the eight local government areas of the Emirate.
The Senior Councillor however assured that some of the dissolved title holders would be returned, while some would be promoted, he added.
According to him, Emir Abubakar II has expressed profound gratitude and appreciation to the title holders over their tremendous contributions towards the development of the Emirate.
