An upper Shari’a Court sitting in Kano under Khadi Aliyu Muhammad Kani on Monday sentenced one Yahaya Sharif Aminu Sharifai found guilty of Blasphemy on Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) on a social media handle through his posts to death by hanging.

Similarly, another man Umar Faruk Bashir of Sharada quarters was also convicted by the Shari’a court of derogatory comments on Allah (SWT) during an argument. The court had sentenced Umar to 10 years imprisonment with hard labour.

Both have been reported to have pleaded guilty of the offences they were charged before the court by the prosecutor Inspector Aminu Sani yar Goje during the court proceedings.
