In a significant political move aimed at enhancing governance and improving service delivery, Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has announced a major reshuffle of the state executive council. The development, which takes immediate effect, includes the removal of key officials, reassignment of commissioners, and the scrapping of the Chief of Staff (COS) portfolio.
The announcement was made in a statement issued by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin-Tofa, on Thursday.
According to the statement, the shake-up is part of a strategic effort to improve the administration’s performance and ensure better delivery of democratic dividends to the people of Kano State.
Among the most notable changes is the removal of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr. Abdullahi Baffa Bichi, reportedly on health grounds. Also, the position of Chief of Staff, previously held by Alhaji Shehu Wada Sagagi, has been completely scrapped as part of the realignment.
