Unknown gunmen stormed the family house of Nigeria’s Minister of Agriculture, Alh Sabo Nanono, late in the night yesterday, and whisked away his brother named Babawuro Tofai.

At the time of filing this report, it could not ascertain the motive of the attack. However, it’s suspected that the incident might be related to the increasing incidence of kidnapping for ransom that pervades the northern part of Nigeria, Sahelian Times reports.

When contacted the spokesperson of the Kano State Police Command, DSP Abdullahi Haruna, said that the police are investigating the matter.
