Governor Malam Umar Namadi of Jigawa State has revealed that he reads his oath of office daily as a personal reminder of the responsibility he owes to the people.

He made this known on Wednesday during the swearing-in of the new chairman of Gumel Local Government, following the death of the previous officeholder.

Speaking at the Government House in Dutse, Namadi urged all public officials to lead with humility, fear of Allah, and a deep sense of accountability.

“The oath we take is before Allah, and breaking it deceives no one but ourselves,” he warned.He emphasized that public funds belong to the people and should be used solely for their benefit.

“Place your oath where you can see it every day. It will remind you why you’re in office,” the governor told the new chairman.

Governor Namadi also cautioned against allowing personal interests to influence official decisions, calling it the “killer of good governance.”
