Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano state, paid a condolence visit to Kwanar Dumawa and Kunya towns of Minjibir local government, to the families of those who were involved in an accident and died and those who sustained various degree of injury.
The accident occurred at Kwanar Dumawa, when 17 people died and over 30 sustained various degree of injury, from both Kwanar Dumawa and Kunya towns.
He prayed for the repose souls of those who passed away as he asked Allah’s Forgiveness to those who passed away, and wished those who sustained injuries quick recovery.
“We asked Almighty Allah to forgive those who lost their lives in this frightening accident. May He reward their good deeds with Jannatul Fiddaus. For those who sustained injuries, we wish them quick recovery,” he prayed.
He further disclosed that, “For the families of those who died we are giving out the total sum of One Hundred Thousand Naira (N100,000) to each family. And the sum of Fifty Thousand Naira (N50,000) for each person who sustained injury in this tragic occurrence.”
When the news of the accident reached the state government, governor said “We were all shocked and felt it deeply inside us. It is therefore on behalf of the government and people of the state, that we are here to commiserate with you over this tragedy.”
He led Commissioners, other members of the state Executive Council, party leaders and elders, Advisers to the Governor and other top government functionaries to Kwanar Dumawa and Kunya towns for the condolence visit.
