The five first class emirs in Kano state have met for the first time on Thursday at the 2nd Passing out Parade ceremony of the Nigerian Police Academy Wudil.
KANO FOCUS reports that the emirs had never met before since the division of the old Kano emirate into five by the Ganduje administration.
During the event, the emirs of Bichi, Gaya, Karaye and Rano sat together while the emir of Kano sat apart.
Also, Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II did not communicate with the four emirs, whom he met at the venue.
On Saturday, Emir Sanusi II was said to have refused attending the convocation of Yusuf Maitama Sule University Kano having learnt that the other emirs were in attendance.
Kano state governor, Abdullahi Ganduje has appointed Mr. Sanusi chairman of the Kano state council of chiefs and directed him to convene an inaugural meeting.
Emir Sanusi is yet to comply with the directive as there are cases pending before different law courts regarding the legality of the new emirates.
