Escaped Kano Zoo lion returns to cage

The lion that bolted from its cage in Kano on Saturday night has returned to its cage after several failed attempts to capture it.

KANO FOCUS reports that the lion returned to the cage around 6:58am on Monday.

Managing Director, Kano Zoological Garden, Sa’idu Gwadabe Gwarzo confirmed this developement to journalists in Kano.

Mr Gwarzo said the lion was attracted to the cage by the roar of an older lion.

Kano state governor Abdullahi Ganduje had given permission for the lion to be killed if it threatened human life as experts failed to capture it.

The Kano Zoo authorities had to call in experts from Abuja to shoot the lion with tranquilizer all to no avail.

The lion’s escaped and the failure to capture has exposed the poor state of the Kano Zoo.
