Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Africa’s richest man is believed to have intervened in the ongoing feud between Abdullahi Ganduje, Kano state governor and Muhammadu Sanusi, emir of Kano.

Dangote, who was known to have played a role in the suspension of a financial probe against Sanusi in 2017 by Ganduje, has again stepped in to save the emir after the governor re-opened the probe.

According to reports, Dangote decided to wade into the matter following the moves by the Kano State House of Assembly to create four rival emirates in Gaya, Karaye, Rano and Bichi in apparently to whittle down Sanusi’s powers reportedly on Ganduje’s request.

A source told journalists at the Government House Kano, that Dangote was sighted on Tuesday morning where he convened a meeting between the Governor and Emir Sanusi, Daily Focus reports.

Even though details of the meeting was never revealed, the source said that “the only agenda revolved around dropping the plan to probe Emir Sanusi over alleged financial misconduct in the management of Kano Emirate council funds.”

“ As I speak to you, Dangote just arrived and he went straight into a meeting with the Governor who returned from condolence visit to Gezewa.

“He didn’t want to come to the office today but because of the death he visited the town and wanted going back before Dangote arrived.

It was also gathered that a group of Kano elders including business man Alhaji Aminu Dantata and former Presidential candidate of the National Republican Convention (NRC), Alhaji Bashir Tofa have also waded into to matter.

Tofa was sighted in the premises of the State Assembly Tuesday apparently lobbying laws makers to change their mind on the their decision to create four additional Emirates.

It would be recalled that Dangote had rescued the Emir when the kano state government launched investigation into alleged financial misappropriation by the Emir.

Dangote who intervened through the State House Assembly was accused of bribing the members with the sum of N100,000 million.
