A Kano chief magistrate’s court on Thursday ordered the arrest of Kannywood star, Hadiza Gabon, over her failure to honour court summon.
Hadiza Gabon was dragged to the Chief Magistrate Court 15, sitting at Nomansland, Kano by a comedy star, Mustapha Naburaska, over alleged threat and intimidation.
Sources told DAILY NIGERIAN that Naburaska filed a direct complaint to the court over fears that police may not file charges against her.
“You know Hadiza Gabon is well-connected actress with vast network of friends, especially among police and political elite,” said a Kannywood insider who preferred anonymity.
But Chief Magistrate Muntari Dandago on Thursday ordered the Kano State commissioner of police, Mohammed Wakili aka Singham, to arrest the actress since she failed to honour the court invitation.
“Since the invitee is not willing to respect the order of this court, I hereby ordered the C.O.P [Commissioner of Police] to cause the arrest of the invitee.
“I further order the C.O.P to investigate the allegation of the complainant and if there is an iota of truth to charge the suspect before any court of law for prosecution.”
