The Court of Appeal has revealed plans to establish a division in Kano state.

The Court of Appeal judge Justice Abdu Aboki disclosed this in Kano during a courtesy visit to Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.

He said the visit was to inform the governor on their mission to supervise the structures donated by the state government for the proposed division of the appellate court.

Justice Aboki, thanked the state government for the quick response to the need for the establishment of Court of Appeal in the state.

“We are in Kano under the directive of the President of the Court of Appeal (Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa) to inspect structures to be used for the establishment of Court of Appeal,” he said as reported by Kano Focus.

In his remarks, Mr Ganduje expressed support for the establishment of an appeal court in the state, noting that when established, it would help in speeding up dispensation of justice.

“We are happy that Court of Appeal is coming to be established in Kano. Kindly extend our gratitude to the President Court of Appeal for accepting our proposal for the establishment of Court of Appeal,” he said.

“We are assuring you that, as it comes to our part, we will give our support for office accommodation, residences of the Justices among other things,” the governor added.
