Bauchi State governement has restates its readiness to fully support Wikki Touris FC of Bauchi. This was disclosed by the Commissioner of Youth and Sports Alhaji Usman Mohammed Sale during an interactive session with members of the team that include players, technical crew, backroom staff and the secretariat staff.
The commissioner said the team under Governor Bala Mohammed will be supported to an enviable position.
“I want to assure that His Excellency the Governor has special regard for the team and is ready to see to your success,” he emphasised according to statement by Nasiru A. Kobi, the team spoke person.
Commenting on the situation of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, the commissioner said the state Government has constituted a high powered committee to look into the issue, adding that the committee had met with the contractor who assured that work will be completed in some weeks to come adding that Wikki may play it’s first three home matches in Gombe before the work is completed.
He solicits the support and understanding of every one as the work last.
Technical adviser of the team Aliyu Zubairu and captain Mohammed Idris Guda both assured the commissioner that they will not let the Government down when the league begins.
During the session, the commissioner entertained questions.
The league management company (lmc) has fixed 20/10/2019 as the new date for the start of the 2019/2020 NPFL season.
