On the evening of Tuesday, October 13, 2020 panic broke out among residents in Kano, Kano state, in northwest Nigeria as armed men invaded some locations, attacking and robbing victims.
HumAngle reports from Sahelian Times reported that four armed men attacked SHY Plaza at Gadon Kaya around 8:30 p.m and robbed people of their valuables.
The armed men, driving in a Volkswagen, Golf car, made a stop at Tukuntawa, a suburb in Kano later the same evening, terrorizing and robbing residents of their possessions.
Eyewitnesses later told HumAngle that the armed men were also seen at Bawo Road of Kano City, robbing several shops.
An official security advisory in July had warned that terrorists were planning to attack Dukawuya of Kano State, barely a few meters away from the locations of these recent robberies.
Sources conversant with the patterns of terrorist operations in northern Nigeria told HumAngle that this fitted with their strategies of embarking on armed robberies and kidnappings as a way of boosting their war chest before launching major attacks.
The terrorists across northern Nigeria had launched themselves by attacking banks, shops and other economic and security zones before re-strategizing for full blown insurgency.
