The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Eng Ahmed Manir of the All Progressive Congress (APC) as the winner of the Lere Federal Constituency seat in Kaduna State.
Professor Maryam Suleiman, the INEC Returning Officer for the Lere Federal Constituency election made the declaration at the Collation Centre in Saminaka, Lere Local Government area of the state. She said the APC candidate, Ahmed Manir of the APC pulled 64, 442 votes to beat his closest rival, Alhaji Muhammed Lawal Rabi’u of the PDP who scored 29,706 votes in Saturday’s National Assembly election.
Professor Maryam said that Manir, having scored the highest votes at the election was returned as winner of the National Assembly election for the Lere Federal Constituency.
Speaking with journalists after the announcement, Manir expressed gratitude to God for his victory. He also thanked voters and the people of Lere for showing faith in him by voting him to represent them at the House of Representatives, and assured them that he would not disappoint them
