Akume to Northern Politicians: Support Tinubu, Wait for 2031

Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, has urged northern politicians to shelve their presidential ambitions until 2031, stressing that President Bola Tinubu deserves a second term in 2027.

Speaking at a two-day interactive session in Kaduna, organized by the Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation, Akume said Tinubu’s administration has made significant progress in security, infrastructure, agriculture, and economic reforms.

He dismissed claims that the North is being sidelined, noting that Tinubu has appointed several northerners and invested in major projects like the Sokoto-Bagary Super Highway.

“Tinubu has delivered remarkable results in just over two years. It’s only fair to allow him continue,” Akume said, urging northern politicians to avoid actions that could derail ongoing national development.
