2027: ADC Expresses Concern Over Possible Atiku–Obi Split

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has expressed concern that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi may not form a united front ahead of the 2027 general election.

ADC spokesperson, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, admitted the party’s worries on Thursday, noting that many Nigerians who desire a strong opposition coalition are uncertain about the prospects of the two leading figures working together.

Abdullahi said the ADC believes that a fragmented opposition could weaken the chances of presenting a formidable challenge in 2027, stressing that cooperation among major opposition leaders remains crucial for a competitive race.

The party urged continued dialogue among opposition stakeholders in hopes of forging a broader alliance before the election season intensifies.
